Getting the timing right
The video lasts as long as the text takes to type, plus the hold at the end. The typing speed slider runs from 6 to 60 characters a second and starts at 26, and the hold runs from 0 to 8 seconds. The preview shows the total length in the corner, so you can aim for a length before you export.
Short posts read best a little slower, so a viewer can follow along. A long post at a slow speed turns into a long video, so push the speed up rather than cutting words.
What the card looks like
The card is drawn the way X lays out a post: display name, handle, text and date, with the avatar in the corner. A verified tick only appears when the post came from a real link and X said the account is verified.
Two switches sit above the download button. The progress bar runs along the bottom of the frame, and the handle watermark puts the handle under the card. Both are on by default and both can be turned off.
If the link will not load
Posts from private, suspended or deleted accounts cannot be read publicly, and some age restricted posts are blocked too. Open "Write it yourself" and type the post in. Anything typed by hand carries a small Recreated label and never gets a tick, which is the case for the example on this page.
Ready? Open the X tool with this example loaded, or read the other guides.
