Reddit comment to video

The best line in a thread is often a comment, not the post. Paste the comment's permalink and Reyoy renders that one comment on its own card.

  • Works from the permalink to one comment
  • Subreddit, username and score on the card
  • Only the comment types out, no title
  • Every format from 9:16 to 16:9

The example above was made in Reyoy, exported at 9:16 and 4.8 seconds long. It was typed by hand, so it carries the Recreated label. A post loaded from a real link renders without it.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Get the comment's own link

On Reddit, open the share menu under the comment and copy the link. That permalink points at the single comment rather than the whole thread.

  2. 2

Fetch it on the Reddit page

Paste it and press Fetch. The status line tells you it loaded a comment rather than a post.

  3. 3

    Pick a look

Choose a background, a light or dark card, and the typing speed.

  4. 4

    Export

Download the MP4 and post it.

Comments make short videos

A comment is usually a sentence or two, which types out in a few seconds. The example here is 4.8 seconds long. Short clips loop well, and a punchy reply reads cleanly on a phone.

The card follows how Reddit shows a comment: a bare username with no u/ prefix, the subreddit for context, and the vote pill with the score.

Adding context

If a comment only makes sense next to the post it answers, make two videos: the post from its own link, then the comment. Or say what the question was in your caption.

Hand typed comments

If a comment will not load, type it into "Write it yourself". It then carries a small Recreated label, as the example on this page does.

Questions

Why did I get the whole post instead?

The link pointed at the thread rather than the comment. Copy the link from the comment's own share menu.

Can I show the reply count?

A comment card shows the score. The comment count belongs to a post card.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account and no watermark.
